The 1000 Tree Complex In Shanghai

Heatherwick Studio has released photographs of its plant-covered 1,000 Trees development in Shanghai.

The complex is populated by hundreds of structural columns that emerge as large planters — each holding a cluster of trees.

The innovative real estate project has earned many comparisons to the mythical gardens of Babylon’s Nebuchadnezzar II, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

  1. first unveiled in 2015, ‘1000 trees’ is a mixed-use development spanning 300,000 square metres on the outskirts of shanghai. designed by heatherwick studio, the project is located in a residential area 20 minutes from the city center, in close proximity to the M50 arts district and a public park.

  2. It certainly looks fantastic, but how will it look in 10 years? Trees will be uncomfortable there. And is there a way out to them so that you can water them if it doesn’t rain for a long time. This is all a common attraction for the viewer. People fall for everything beautiful in a beautiful cover. But they don’t think about what is hidden behind it. Anyway, everything around is without greenery and trees, and this island is just a beautiful island, but no more. This is a common overpaying for nothing) I would prefer to buy something in a greener place and for less money
