Jamis makes the best commuter bike for the price. Most commuter aren’t rich and don’t want to spend $2000 plus on a machine where they have to provide the power. I’ve also owned the Novara but I think Jamis is a better bike.

I have a Coda commuter…love it. I know I could get a leg gaiter, but curious if there is a FULL chain guard that would fit my Coda … something not like the SKS chain guard which still leaves the chain exposed along the bottom where pants can rub.

When is someone going put out a commuter that is steel ,has a chain guard, fenders ,up right position and the gears you need?

Few of these bikes have fenders and chain guard so would not consider then commuters. How about rakes and lighting systems. Few bikes on the market are ready to go commuters by people other then bike nerds (and I have nothing against bike nerds).

Where is Globe and Cannondale? They make high quality, affordable commuter bikes. Seems like they should have been included especially if the cheap Novarra/Giant gets promoted. No one needs disc brakes on a commuter…
