Here are some sealant and caulks that are mostly free of VOCs and other solvents:
- Rescue Bond Sealant & Adhesive — no VOCs, toluene, isocyanates, solvents, phthalates, or any other harsh chemicals — odor free
- AFM Caulk — a not-toxic, elastic emulsion-type caulking compound designed to replace oil caulk and putty
- Dap All-Purpose Adhesive Sealant — 100% silicone, waterproof and suitable for aquariums
- Aquascape Silicone Sealant Safe for Fish and Plants — another 100% silicone, waterproof and suitable for aquariums
Silicone is not toxic, but the chemicals added to it are often toxic. For silicone caulk, look for 100% silicone.
